Joss Whedon once said something to the effect that anytime someone starts talking about science, he gets a headache. That Firefly is about people and stories, not science. While that's certainly true, the writing so far has stayed very consistent and true to its science. For me, that makes the science worth discussing. It's a welcomed change to watch a science fiction show that actually pays attention to science and physics, even if it is doing so only as a background element.
But I'm not just a flan with no other life. I like the works of James Lee Burke and his daughter, Alafair Burke. I play Warcraft; although for some, that may put me back into the "no life" category. I work for a local bank in Software Licensing. Since talking about the job in a blog is a good way to lose the job, entries about software licensing will be few and far between. I have two gray tabbies: Smokey, 11 years old; and Curran, 6 months old, whom I rescued from the wilds. Like a lot of middle-aged people, I spend a lot of time worrying about my finances and my weight, trying to increase the former and reduce the latter; although, the opposite seems always to work better. I liked DaVinci Code and the other works of Dan Brown. I like to collect tarot decks for their artwork. My home network has both PCs and Macs. If I had the money, I'd switch to Macs entirely.
